Breaking: Manchester United have expressed interest in acquiring £60m RB Leipzig Star

Manchester United are expected to strengthen their attacking lineup with several new signings ahead of the upcoming season.

The club has been proactive in the early stages of the summer transfer window and has already brought in Matheus Cunha from Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Their next target is Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo, with negotiations currently ongoing with the Bees.

Meanwhile, in a surprising twist, Sport Bild reports that United are among a few Premier League clubs interested in RB Leipzig’s Xavi Simons.

Leipzig only recently secured Simons on a permanent deal from Paris Saint-Germain, and any potential transfer would likely cost at least £60 million.

However, the rumors surrounding Simons could be driven by his agents rather than genuine interest from United.

Cunha, who scored 17 goals and provided six assists for Wolves last season, has already boosted United’s attacking midfield options.

The club is now focused on finalizing a deal for Mbeumo, who tallied 20 goals and eight assists in the Premier League last season—a signing that would significantly enhance their frontline.

Although Tottenham Hotspur have joined the race for Mbeumo following their appointment of former Brentford boss Thomas Frank, United remain confident.

Mbeumo is reportedly eager to join United, but the club must reach an agreement with Brentford regarding the terms of the transfer.

While Simons has been linked again, likely due to agent activity, United’s primary focus appears to remain on Mbeumo. Despite an injury-hit season, Simons still recorded 19 goal contributions in 33 appearances for Leipzig.

The versatile Dutch attacker can operate on both wings or as a number 10, but given the high transfer fee, United are expected to prioritize Mbeumo unless a deal falls through.
