Just in: Manchester United are looking to bring in Wilfred Ndidi as a replacement for Casemiro.

Manchester United are reportedly eyeing Wilfred Ndidi as a potential replacement for Casemiro.

Despite early interest in forwards like Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo during the summer transfer window, United have yet to take concrete steps to reinforce their midfield.

With a tight budget due to the lack of European football next season, splashing out on a high-profile midfielder seems unlikely. Still, it’s clear the midfield needs addressing.

While Casemiro ended the season as one of Ruben Amorim’s most dependable players, his advancing age and physical decline mean he can no longer be counted on to start regularly. Additionally, he remains the club’s top earner.

Recognizing the need for change, United have reportedly turned their attention to Leicester City’s Ndidi, a player they’ve been monitoring for a while.

At 28, the Nigerian midfielder shares similarities with Casemiro in terms of physical strength and ball-winning capabilities. Although Leicester were relegated, Ndidi’s contract reportedly includes a release clause allowing clubs to sign him for £8 million this summer.

United have yet to submit a formal bid, but they are said to be eager to complete the signing quickly.

Meanwhile, The Peoples Person recently cited a report stating that Casemiro hopes to stay at Old Trafford as he aims for a spot in Brazil’s 2026 World Cup squad.
