Breaking: Manchester United could finalize four signings this week as their pre-season gets underway

Carrington Reopens as United Kick Off Pre-Season

Manchester United return to Carrington on Monday as they begin preparations for the new season. New manager Ruben Amorim and his coaching staff were seen arriving at the training ground on Friday, marking the start of a pivotal campaign for themselves and the club.

United’s first two summer arrivals, Matheus Cunha and Diego Leon, are expected to be present for the opening day. Meanwhile, the club is still working to finalize the signing of Bryan Mbeumo. Brentford have already turned down two offers, the latest reportedly worth £55 million with an additional £7.5 million in bonuses.

Several players—Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Antony, Alejandro Garnacho, and Tyrell Malacia—will be missing, with all five exploring exits from Old Trafford. Two of them may be part of up to four potential departures United hope to complete in the first week of pre-season.

The drawn-out pursuit of Mbeumo is nearing a conclusion, with either a breakthrough or a collapse imminent. It’s been over a week since Brentford rejected United’s second bid, as the club stands firm on a guaranteed £60 million valuation. A third offer is likely, and United’s hierarchy are working to make it count.

Amorim remains hopeful Mbeumo will become his third signing by week’s end.

Rashford’s Dream Move to Barcelona?

Barcelona’s failure to sign Athletic Club’s Nico Williams has shifted their attention back to Marcus Rashford, who is reportedly holding out for a move to the Camp Nou. Though they are also interested in Liverpool’s Luis Diaz, the Colombian’s high price may keep him at Anfield.

According to Sky Germany, talks between Rashford and Barcelona have resumed. While personal terms shouldn’t be an issue, Barça’s desire for an initial loan could complicate negotiations with United.

United Eye Calvert-Lewin

Manchester United are said to be eyeing free agent Dominic Calvert-Lewin after his contract with Everton expired. Amorim has already missed out on his primary striker targets, with Liam Delap joining Chelsea and Viktor Gyokeres closing in on a move to Arsenal.

With funds limited and sales proving difficult, signing Calvert-Lewin on a free could be a swift and cost-effective move if United’s interest is serious.

Sancho Nearing Juventus Move

Juventus appear ready to end Jadon Sancho’s United stint, which has been marked by inconsistency and off-field issues. Chelsea spent £5 million to terminate his loan early without triggering a £25 million buy option.

Reports in Italy suggest Sancho has agreed to join Juventus, though he may need to accept a wage reduction. A meeting is expected early in the week to finalize a deal worth around £21 million.
