Report: Manchester United Finalize Swap Deal Involving £300,000-a-Week Player

Sancho Nearing Juventus Move, But Wage Dispute Remains a Sticking Point

Manchester United are reportedly closing in on a deal to transfer Jadon Sancho to Juventus, though his salary demands are complicating the process.

According to Corriere dello Sport, Juventus are interested in signing Sancho on a permanent basis but are hesitant to match his current wage of around €10 million per year. An agreement has already been reached between United and the Italian side for either a direct sale or a potential swap deal involving Sancho.

Last season, the England international spent time on loan at Chelsea, but his high wage demands prevented a permanent move for a reported £25 million. The Blues ultimately paid a £5 million fee to terminate the loan early, sending Sancho back to Manchester, where he does not feature in new manager Ruben Amorim’s plans.

United are prepared to let Sancho leave for £21.5 million (€25 million) plus bonuses or could receive Douglas Luiz in a swap. Luiz has struggled since moving to Juventus from Aston Villa in the summer of 2024.

Sancho, who currently earns £300,000 per week, is seeking a new deal worth around £6.9 million (€8 million) annually. Juventus, however, are only willing to offer between £5.1 million and £6 million (€6–7 million) net. Despite the salary gap, all sides are optimistic that a compromise will be reached, and Sancho is reportedly excited about the opportunity to play for the Bianconeri.

Manchester United are planning a broader squad overhaul, with Sancho among several players expected to leave. Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, Antony, and Tyrell Malacia are also exploring potential transfers.

Sancho joined United in 2021 from Borussia Dortmund in a £73 million deal but has struggled to find consistent form at Old Trafford. A move abroad could offer him the reset he needs.
